A choreography for microscope: the camera travels the bodies so closely that they become foreign landscapes, carried by the music of Sigur Rós. Created for the opening of Reykjavik’s Winter Lights Festival, projected onto two oil tanks in the harbour — then released worldwide by NOWNESS.

On screen: Erna Ómarsdóttir, Valdimar Jóhannsson, Pierre-Alain Giraud, the dancers of the Iceland Dance Company — Aðalheiður Halldórsdóttir, Hannes Þór Egilsson… — Erna’s mother and their six-year-old son. “The band’s music has many small sounds that are subtle, showing what is hidden in front of our eyes. We built on these sounds; making a choreography for a microscope where the performance happens on the body itself.”
