Shot in Korea with Moon So-Ri, the film extends The Empire of Lights staged by Arthur Nauzyciel at the National Theater Company of Korea (Seoul, 2016), for which Pierre-Alain Giraud created the images — the adaptation of Kim Young-ha’s novel is co-written with Arthur Nauzyciel and Valérie Mréjen.
