A chamber opera in which the stages of sleep follow the life cycle of butterflies: insomnia mirroring the egg, the narcolepsy of hatching — 70 minutes for three singers, four musicians, a weaver and the animations of Pierre-Alain Giraud.
Directed by Sara Martí, based on the collection Wide Slumber for Lepidopterists by poet a.rawlings. With Alexi Murdoch (the Insomniac), Sasha Siem (the Somnopterist) and Ásgerður Júníusdóttir (the Lepidopterist), around a loom that metamorphoses. Created at Tjarnarbíó as part of the 28th edition of the Reykjavik Arts Festival.
